Collared Tee

Posted on: 6 January, 07

The Ottobre sewing group is having a “sewalong” from the women’s issue while we all wait for the new spring issue. Since I have already made the basic tee several times, the trench coat, the pants, and all of the skirts, I decided to give the collared tee a try. Like all Ottobre, it went together beautifully and the measurements were totally accurate. The pattern suggested knit for the collar and placket. Naturally, I had to try something else… a silk jacquard. There is no issue with getting it over my head. It could be interesting to use a contrasting color or print.

I would recommend using a 5/8 inch seam allowance for the collar, especially if you are using a ravel prone fabric like this silk jacquard. Other than that, the pattern goes together in a snap.
