What I am Reading….

Miss Understanding by Stephanie Lessing

I have not written about any of my recent reads because they all left me lukewarm.  They were not bad, but they were not great either.

Miss Understanding was not exactly the great American novel, but it was fun.  A social misfit somehow manages to get hired to revamp a fashion magazine.  She sees this as her opportunity to teach girls how to treat each other better, to prevent other girls from enduring the torture of her youth.  The characters are outlandish, but that is what makes the book fun.  They get themselves in awkward messes.  We all know real life counterparts of these very exaggerated characters.

Some days, you just need a book that makes you giggle.
