Good Intentions

Posted on: 23 September, 08

This was an easy project.  Ok, I shouldn’t even call it a “project” because it was so simple.  Call it what you want, it will make a pregnant lady very happy.  When we went shopping for fabric for the soft sculpture unit, the art teacher found a really fabulous fleece of monster faces.  She bought some to make a blanket for her daughter.  Those of you who sew understand that fabric is always purchased with good intentions.  Our storage spaces are filled with yards and yards of good intentions.  That was about a year ago.  The art teacher is now very pregnant with baby #2.  I offered to put a binding on the blanket for her.

The art teacher likes bright colors, especially orange.  As luck would have it, I had some orange sweat shirt fleece in my stash.  I sewed it with the fuzzy side out so the whole blanket would be fuzzy.  It is awfully cute and very snuggly.  Do you think I could get away with just “forgetting” to give it back?  Maybe I need to test it out for a few days…..

This is very cute. I love the orange binding. Too bad you can’t just get some of your own.

I love fleece blankets and stuff like this. There are so many cute prints out there. Some ugly ones too, but more cute than ugly. That fleece would make some cute boy pj pants too.
